Which laws we follow

We apply the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to every learner, wherever they live, as the baseline. Learners in Brazil also hold the rights of the Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD, Lei nº 13.709/2018), and learners in India those of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act). The rights below are exercised the same way under all three.

What we collect

Only what the service needs to work:

• ·Account: your name, email address, interface language and declared level.
• ·Study activity: exercise and exam answers, vocabulary review history, study days.
• ·Purchases: what you bought, when, the amount charged and a payment reference. Card details are handled by the payment provider and never reach us.
• ·Written work you submit, and any AI feedback produced for it.
• ·Technical: the time of your last visit, and server logs needed to keep the service running and secure.

Why

To provide the service you asked for (performing our contract with you), to take payment and keep the records the law requires, and to keep the platform secure. We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising.

Who else processes it

Our payment provider, to take payment; our email provider, to send the messages you asked for; our hosting provider; and, only when you choose to buy AI feedback, the model provider configured for the platform. Each processes data on our instructions.

AI feedback and your writing

When you request AI feedback, the text you submitted and the task you were given are sent to the configured model provider so that feedback can be produced. We do not send your name or email address with it. Feedback is stored against your account so you can read it again.

Where your data lives

Account and study data are hosted in the European Union by default. If a hosting region outside the EU — a Brazilian one, for instance — is ever offered, choosing it will be up to you, and this page will name the region and the safeguards used for the transfer.

How long

Account and study data are kept while your account exists. Purchase records are kept for as long as accounting and tax rules require, even after an account is closed. Delete your account and the rest goes with it.

Learners under 18

The Escolar versions of the CAPLE papers are written for candidates aged 12 to 15. For any learner under 18 we ask for a parent or guardian's email address and consent before serving that content, and use the address for nothing else. That is also what India's DPDP Act and Brazil's LGPD require. A guardian may ask at any time to see, correct or delete a minor's data. We do not profile minors or show them advertising — nor anyone else.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export or delete your data, object to processing, withdraw a consent you gave, or complain to a data protection authority — the CNPD in Portugal, the ANPD in Brazil, the Data Protection Board of India, or the one where you live. Write to [email protected] and we will act within one month, or within fifteen days for an access request under the LGPD.

Cookies

Pois sets one cookie, to keep you signed in and to remember your interface language. There are no advertising or analytics cookies, which is why you are not being asked to consent to any.
